You will be able to post your own messages here, leave me comments and discuss my blog entries. Let’s share knowledge about poker so we can all become more enlightened players.

  2. SoCalDeeva

I’m looking forward to reading your tips as I have not yet grasped the way to play the game – and it looks fun.

  3. Steve

    Well said Drunk Blonde.

As the old plumbing company slogan goes –

A straight flush beats a full house!

    Gottttaaaa goooo!
    Steve

  4. Steve

I can tell by your pic that you like drinking almost as much as you like poker. Ha,Ha,Ha

  5. Poker: A Metaphor for Life

Drunk Blonde’s Poker Blog wrote an interesting post today on Poker: A Metaphor for Life. Here’s a quick excerpt; In poker and in life we are dealt hands and we must make decisions as to how to play our hands. We all should strive to make more good decisions than bad decisions. As in life, so it is in poker. I have heard it suggested that poker is very much like life. In fact, poker is an excellent metaphor for life. [DRUNK BLONDE'S POST PUBLISHED ON ANOTHER POKER BLOG]

  7. Poker & Predictability of Lucky Streaks

[...] It occurs to me that this would be the normal or expected fluctuation of probably occurrences in poker. Otherwise, we may fall into the trap of thinking that we are unlucky, or the poker gods have it out for us, or some other self-defeating beliefs. This is a predictable outcome in the game of poker. It is to be expected. [...] [DRUNK BLONDE'S POST PUBLISHED ON ANOTHER POKER BLOG]

Unfortunately when the cards aren’t coming our way we can fall into the chase mode thinking that we are “due” as well. I’ve done it many times with disasterous results. It’s hard to resist the temptation once you’re stuck and steamin’.

  9. SoCalDeeva

You probably ARE just having a bad streak – me, I’m just sucky unlucky when I play cards, lol.

  10. SoCalDeeva

This actually makes a lot of sense (not that your other posts don’t…) – it’s interesting and easier to understand when presented this way…

  11. VegasShark

Well stated Drunk Blonde. Are you the one that busted me out of the Full Tilt tourney yesterday? I’ll look you up – you hottie! But now I’ll watch my a$$ if we play together.

I also play sit and goes almost exclusively. Thats the best game as far as I’m concerned.

    VegasShark

  12. VegasShark

Yeah, sometimes I flirt with the cute girl icons in Full Tilt Poker. ;)

    Vegas Shark

  13. VegasShark

    Kiss Kiss :)

  14. VegasShark

Sit and go poker requires a very different strategy from regular games.

I used the strategies for early, middle and late stages of sit and go games and I went from a sometimes winner to winning a lot. I expect to win them now.

I play almost every day but I avoid you whenever I can though ;)

  15. VegasShark

Johnny’s SNG Pro is very thorough. It includes a nicely produced video that shows how to employ the strategies, an audio CD and a SNG handbook for reading. I think he’s giving away some other stuff now too. I really like the multi-media approach.

  16. SoCalDeeva

I WISH I could go and have a beer with you!! Hopefully this summer we’ll be able to hang out. :) By the way – LOVE the look – you’re doing a great job!!! :D

  17. admin

That’s right, you have to shift gears in the game. When I finally learned that I really started winning more consistently.

  18. admin

This is so true. Most of the other players don’t seem to have a clue. The following is an excerpt of an e-mail from JR, creator of Sit-N-Go Pro System:

    Hi Loni,

The truth is, many players are either drunk [no disrespect to the drunk blonde intended], hungover or playing multiple tables at once. Or all of the above! They’re not paying attention to your betting patterns. They’re just playing the CARDS, not the PLAYERS…

    See You at the Top,
    Johnny “JR” Rothman

  19. pokergroupie

I’d rate yours a 6 beer site – Hamms at that! Or maybe 6 Hamms tall boys in a can with a shot! Always good stuff.

  20. pokergroupie

“You know what, Poker isn’t fair. Get over it.”

I’m glad you are putting these whinners and complainers in their place. I get so exasperated listening to them moan about how unfair poker, and life in general is.

“- don’t forget to show some love. I’m writing as fast as I can!”

Yeah, kinda hard to type with a brewski in your hand ain’t it?

Your post sounds very interesting. I’d like to see how you do in heads up SNG in the days ahead. I’ll be back!

  23. SoCalDeeva

Grrr – you go you monster you.

  24. emilee

hey i played poker with you. you are an awesome player. thanks for giving me those pointers and cool site… keep up the good work.

  25. Bad2dBone

Hey, I love you! We’ll have to play sometime at FullTilt. I’ll look you up.

  26. SoCalDeeva

I can’t believe I’ve posted so few comments!! Well, I promise to do better in the future. :) Check your hits chickie!!

  27. pokergroupie

Hey this gives me 6 comments posted now I’m in the lead! Unless VegasShark goes goofy or somethin’.

  28. SoCalDeeva

I’m still learning – but I’ll be sure to check out the sit-n-go poker soon. :)

  29. Sara

This site is really great! You outdid yourself and you have the bank account to back up your “talk.” Keep up the good work!

  30. Sara

You know you are too good at stealing pots.

  31. Sara

I can surely attest at all the hours you have put into playing online poker.

  32. Sara

Full Tilt really does have it goin on. They have thought of everything it seems to make you feel as if you really are there at that poker table when you play. I love the famous poker players coming into a table to. They are really keepin’ it real. You have also won an immense amount on this site and have truly earned it with the amount of hours you have put into the site too. Good luck!

  33. Sara

many people have actually bet away their homes and cars and other important things in their lives when they get into this kind of frenzy. This is good advice.

  34. pokergroupie

SNG appeals to me because it’s fast and keeps me from getting in trouble. Can you share more on this technique?

  35. emilee

yeah i agree i have a lot of bad luck sometimes.. but reading your blogs are actually making me win more. good info.

  36. pokergroupie

Excellent advice Drunk Blonde. Too much of anything – even poker can slowly erode the rest of our lives away.

  37. SoCalDeeva

I’ll be taking a lot of breaks, lol – since I’m still learning how to “play” the game… though I did win a 750 dollar hand (free play, dammit) with three queens, lol. :)

The cure for the common tilt.

  39. jerry aka skys the limit7

    Hi Drunk Blonde,
I really want to begin playing poker as a second income, right now I have a small bankroll $100.00 at full tilt.
I have been a member of full tilt for awhile so I cannot enjoy that sign up bonus. I also belong to bodog and ultimate bet. Are there any other US sites that u can recomend that I can sign up with and get a good deposit bonus? Also that video u mentioned where can i order that? In the meantime, can you share some of ur strategies for winning at the SNG’s
my name on cardschat is skys the limit7
username on full tilt is :wired077
my bodog name is: skys the limit7

  40. SoCalDeeva

Definitely going to check out that download – thanks!

  41. SoCalDeeva

This is pretty cool – you did a good job… and yeah, I think he did wrong trying to take advantage of you, so he deserved what he got… :)

  42. SoCalDeeva

This is when you’re NOT bluffing obviously, lol. I can’t wait to join up at Full Tilt – but I’m still learning at this time. Once I’m comfortable with my play – I’m joining. :)

  43. pokergroupie

Hey that’s neat Drunk Blonde. You really have a great idea here with the live capture video (is that what you called it?) I haven’t seen anyone else doing this on a blog.

You’re ahead of the pack Drunk Blonde, as usual. Why don’t you put some more up, I really enjoy watching – they don’t call me pokergroupie for nothing you know.

  44. SoCalDeeva

This is great! I can’t wait to see more – very helpful and well done!

  45. pokergroupie

How long did it take you to work up to 4 games simultaneously? I bet bad runs don’t persist too long with this strategy.

  46. pokergroupie

I like your new video presentation with sound much better! Helps me to follow along. Please post more. They’re sort of addicting.

  47. jimd

This is interesting, never really considered playing sit and go. seen it around but never thought much of it.

    thank you

  48. pokergroupie

Just sort of funny when you think of the different kinds of fish out there; puffers, big mouth bass, eels, and let’s not forget the sharks.

  49. pokergroupie

BTW “Fish” and “Shark” are not in your glossary of terms. I know they are very slang. Maybe you could include them? Do I get a gold star, or a smiley face or an atta girl or something? A little recognition ppl!!!

  50. pokergroupie

Great tip Drunk Blonde! Keep ‘em coming now.

  51. pokergroupie

I’ve heard old timers say that you just have to play through the bad streaks. There’s not much you can do about them except to as you say stick to your strategy.

  52. SoCalDeeva

That sounds like a really good system – and obviously it’s been working for you. Way to go!! :)

  53. rockycatt

    your vids rock

  54. pokergroupie

I just had one of those fish in a barrel days after a losing streak. Funny how that works. I just wish I knew how long it was going to last so I could really capitalize!

  55. pokergroupie

That’s something you don’t hear much about in poker… compassion. Glad someone has a heart!

  56. Happy Stacks

I know what ya mean. Just came off an ugly with the worst beat of my life. in the middle of a 6 hour season and im up 600% playing 1/2 no limit on line.

Bank roll had taken a beating over the last 2 weeks with major suck outs, and a few mistakes of allowing my opponents decent pot odds to for some draws.

Sitting at the table, I get dealt KK, raise get re-raises pref lop and make the call. The guy was out of position, and playing very sloppy. Pot is now 100 on a 1/2 table and I flop Quad Kings. I make a pot sized raised and the guy comes over the top putting me all in. I call quickly and am excited to have the pot handed in my direction.

    Turn A

    River A

runner runner for Quad Aces beat my flop Quad Kings

I wanted to cry a little.

  57. Mitchell Cogert

Hi, I wanted to see if I could get your feedback on a No-Limit book I’m writing aimed at beginners and intermediate players. It’s called Tournament Poker: 101 Winning Moves. The problem I had is that there’s too much info scattered all about…I wanted one place to find the top moves.

Since you play the game I figured you could tell me if the book is helpful. The book is being launched May 1st. I can email you a pdf.

    thanks,
    Mitchell

  58. gtycoon

Playing in the lower stakes can take it’s toll when you run into donkeys playing anything and everything and betting with anything and everything. Hopefully you’ll be able to build your bankroll enough so you can move up in stakes and out of the donk filled micro limits.

Oh, and usually for me playing poker drunk doesn’t work out to well…lol

Gook luck at the tables ;-)

  59. real guy

    Shit!!!!!!!!!!!

  60. tip

I just want you to know that I think you did a terrific job on this website.

  61. Marcus

Thanks for your blog. The videos are great. I think I’m going to try some sit n go tourneys now to see if I can follow your strategy.

  62. DaHeater

Your site- http://www.drunkblondepoker.com is amazing site, good job with it.

  63. AAAins

I finally got a chance to check out your web page, and I must say that I’m impressed. Hope everything is going well. Take care!

  64. Charles Poker

There are certainly differences between face to face poker, and online play. I have made more money online and Full Tilt has plenty of fish who play loose and pay off consistently. Very nice site with good info. Thanks. Charles Poker

  65. Jessica Pro

You’re right, it even works online. Good job on the blog. I have it bookmarked and enjoy reading it.

  66. The Folding Fool

Great article, I’m laughing my ass off. I’m a guy but this is funny shit. I’ll have to remember what u girls are up to.

  67. Wilma Smack

Oh this is good! I love your style. Thank you.

  68. John845

    Beautiful site! thank you

  69. Moses Finley

You look like a lot of fun. I’ll bookmark your site and read your posts.

  70. kevin aka TxFreeMan

    Hey, skys the limit!

If you want to win at sit n go’s, here’s your strategy: Search for my screen name, and and enter every sit n go I’m not playing in. That’s pretty much all you need to know to get started, the rest will come with time. good luck.

Oh, and the biggest mistake ppl make in sit n gos is putting themselves in too many coin flips early on. if someone goes all in pre and you got queens, fold those ladies! I know they look good. And dont get involved in too many big pots early on unless you absolutely have the best hand. let your opponents knock each other out while you sit back and make the money.

The next thing is to become an expert at heads up. making the money is extremely easy at low stakes sng’s, but going from 2nd to 1st is a big difference in how much profit you got.

If you’re a big stack against a small stack, be careful not to play the “all in with every big hand game”. let them see flops and outplay them. small ball them, but play aggressive and keep the pressure on them all the time. and make sure you don’t double them up. In 2 hands, you can go from having 3x their chips to losing your first place money.

    That’s it. Good luck!

  71. multi hand poker star

I see we share a common interest! Excellent job on the website!

  72. daniel

    interesting tricks.

somebody could say that relying on these tricks – even your name “drunkblonde”…, demostrates that women are not as good as men playing poker…

    i’m just kidding,
i’ve heard other professional players saying that being nice (male or female doesn’t matter) at a casino’s table, makes the other player less aggressive with you…

i will try to chat a little bit…

  73. TJ

My wife is just learning the game and I think she would LOVE this site. This is a great blog post and I enjoyed it – even from a male perspective, lol.

  74. Tommy

Lol I understand that u are sponsored by Full Tilt but come on…both Poker Stars and Absolute offer lower limit tables than .5/.10. I do enjoy playing at FT when I do play there, I’m just making an observation.

  75. Tommy

SoCal, why would u be bluffing pre flop anyway? Bluffing is not profitable long term in online casinos, it just isn’t. The fish will call and u will lose.

  76. Mal

  79. pokergal

So, what’s your advice when the cards still run bad (and I mean bad) after several breaks. I’m talking months this has been going on…

  80. Matt Showell

    Hello!

Saw the post about PokerListings. Thanks for the link love fo sho!

  87. DrunkBlonde

Thank you sweetie! Wish I could have done better. At least I won two out of three sit n goes while I watched the rest of the RGC Tournament. It’s a little consolation, but I really wanted that WSOP seat.

    BTW, You are the best!

  96. Tholgy

I don’t know, I can’t get rid of the feeling that there is something wrong with the software these Casinos running!

I know what you say, better take a look and your game, maby something is going wrong with it, and don’t cry and so on. But, my experience ist that when I’m new to a casino, and meanwhile I got six accounts on different sites, the cards are comming more to my favore? When I played a couple of games (weeks, month), it seems like it is getting less and less and other People pulling the cards they need to beat a hand that was better preflop or on the turn/river. Are they new to that pokerroom???

Look at it this way – just an assumption – There are more and more onlinecasinos who wants to anticipate on that billion dollar market. There is a huge competiion so wouldn’t it be smart (allthout illegal) to let new players win a couple, and then once in a while (regardless of Skill level) again to make them think “Hey, I can win here, I did it in the past and I can do it again – I stay here, I won’t go some else?

    what you thing?

  97. Heythere, your blog is a great read, I enjoy it

I just wanted to get your opinion on whether or not I should start playing Sit-N-Go’s for cash ans at what level you might suggest.
    I am ITM 61%
    Totals 250pt SNG’s=118
    1st’s=20 times
    2nd’s=26 times
    3rd’s=27 times
    4th’s=18 times

I decided to pay 100+ consecutive 250 point BUY-IN SNG’s on Full Tilt to see what the results would.

    Thanks

  101. Mike

I consider myself a very very good poker player but is poker for me.I found myself all in on four different ocassions here they are.
1)2009 WSOP ME KK vs JJ. QQ vs JJ
2)hometown final champ tourney QQ vs 33
    3)HPT ME AA vs KK

I am all in and got the best of it preflop in every scenario and get sucked out on.

  102. Gerald Kevern

  104. Mark

How right you are! The worst feeling is when a donk talks trash and continues to rake in pots. It’s even worst when it’s geared toward you because he sucked out on you and thinks he’s Doyle Brunson now.
Your advice is spot on, stick to your A game and learn to roll with it. And yes, I have been in that scenario, last night in fact, where my J 9 and my A 10 began to look like monsters! Nice job, enjoyed reading this blog.

These are good tips, let me add in some valuable words of wisdom, a routine that has not only protected my bankroll, but has grown it.

You must adopt a strict discipline to your style of play in the early days of your poker career, become familiar with the hand ranks and play only top pairs when you have little chips.

Play anything when you have lots of chips and work together in the middle.

This routine is so unpredictable it will frighten the wider majority at the table. Works a treat in sit and go holdem, because people automatically assume your tight and then loose, they have no idea.

    Brilliant blog.

Check my out, i’m a strategist writer, would love to post for you.
